cylinder extractor problem

I have a 1920s vintage 22/32 target that has a problem with the extractor. At the end of the cylinder, the projection that fits into the groove of the extractor (the portion that keeps the extractor from rotating) has been stripped by the previous owner. Is this something that can be replace by a gunsmith or does the gun need to be sent back to the factory for repair?
