Would a Model of 1955 cylinder work in a 2nd model Hand Ejector? It sure would be nice to be able to shoot ACP out of mine. I'm looking at one on GB.

It may take some work. I assume the second model is a caliber .455. The barrel cylinder gap may or may not be ok. If it is too tight the front of the cylinder will have to be trimmed to open it up. Also the cylinder when the cylinder is opened will have excess fore and aft movement because the cylinder lug on the frame is a different length. You will need the whole cylinder assembly and probably the ejector rod and center pin will have to be fitted.

I would check your cylinder and make certain it has been reproofed for the higher pressure. I myself stick with hand loads using the .45 autorim appropriate to the .455 webley, since I dont want to risk overstressing my 1905 british proofed that was cut for acp and autorim. If one *really* wanted, I would recommend fitting a 1917 or 1937 cylinder/crane/extractor assembly. The cylinders were made for the higher pressure, and fitting the entire assembly is sometimes easier than just a cylinder.

Or just get a shooter grade 1917/1937 for .45 acp (which is what I ended up doing.)

I may have a spare cylinder from a Hand Ejector in 45 Long Colt. I believe it is nickel finished though.
