i have a 686 ssr pro series performance shop revolver. i am haveing two problems.
1 the cylinder binds and will not sing there are two spots in the 6 rounds that are much different feeling trigger pulls, the ejector rod is tight and straight the yoke is liend up with the hole in the frame.

2 on one chamber and not always the same one the cylinder release goes forward and will not return causing the trigger not to return. once you open the cylunder it works fine until you dry fire and attempt to open the cylinder.
any help as what you look for would be great

thank you

I'll throw out a couple ideas. A couple cylinders with different feel. I'm assuming double action. The lugs that turn the cylinder are not adjusted to the hand as well as the others. Takes a good gunsmith to get it right. I have had several Stainless guns that S&W just left the extractor rough. Could also cause a bind.

Release going forward.🤔 How do you hold your gun. Are you doing it with your thumb. Once these close they are spring loaded.

Your explanation is difficult to follow. So when you push the release forward are you moving the cylinder outward. If so then that is normal. When the cylinder is in closed position all the spring loaded pins push the bolt back which is what the thumb release is attached to, then you can pull the trigger or cock the hammer.

the cylinder release moves forward stays then you cannot pul the trigger. if you push the release forward the cylinder will open as designed. somthing is causing the cylinder release not to return

If when you are pushing the release forward and moving the cylinder out, the release stays forward is normal. If the cylinder is still in the closed position and release stays forward. Oil's can sometimes get crusty and bind up the center pin. Here is a picture the pin in the center should move inward and return with a pretty good spring load.
