Hi everyone.

Having a problem with a 629-1 44 magnum. in the past couple of months I have been experiencing misfires on the range. At first I thought it was the ammo, however, what was actually happening was firing single action slow deliberate shots. Misfire would occur because the cylinder did not move, then re-cock the weapon and it would fire again.

I gave it a serious cleaning, by removing the cylinder to clean. At the range last night, I shot 3 cylinders with no misfires (a vast improvement over 1 over 2 misfires per cylinder). 2 Shots into the 4th it did not fire. Cracked open the cylinder and the hammer struck the round just fired. Another words when cocking the single action the cylinder did not cycle and remained on the cylinder just fired.

Has anyone ever heard of this before? so I need to get it tuned? Any help or suggestions appreciated.

Sounds more like the cylinder is moving backwards because of the recoil.
This was a common problem in the earlier 29's and was fixed with the newer models. Maybe a stiffer bolt spring would fix it.

Hi Blue Dot, I dont see or fell any end shake. I think I need to have the endurance kit installed or a tuning
