Ok, I feel like an idiot. I have an old and fairly well worn M12, 2" that I had worked on a number of years back. I did a trigger job and removed the serrations from the trigger. The gun shot well and it was my "old school copper" gun to carry while feeling nostalgic.
Here's my problem. Today I decided that I had not rounded the trigger face quite enough and it irritated my trigger finger when shooting for an extended period of time. I removed and rounded the trigger and put it all back together. Now it won't reliably turn the cylinder in double action.
There seems to be no rhyme nor reason as to when it does and does not rotate. I removed the trigger and carefully (or so I thought) replaced it with no change. I repeated the process several times with the same result.
While I have not recently worked on my revolvers, apparently I have turned into a hammer mechanic in that interim.
I hope there is merely an obvious reason that seems to be escaping me but decided to ask for any assistance here.
Embarrassing replies are expected and as long as I can get the old girl running again, I deserve it.
A sincere thank you in advance.
