Was cleaning a hammerless S/W mod 642-2 (also marked DAV9672) in 38S&W +P &, when it went back togather, the paw that rotates the cylinder had no tension on it and would not rotate the cylinder. I am uncertain just how to proceed at this point. I seems to me that there is a spring within the trigger itself that places tension on the paw, but I can't see it. Any help on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated.

Take your trigger back out of the gun,Pull the Paw out and you will see a spring leg hanging down in the trigger. With a screw driver push the leg of the spring up and slide the Paw back into the trigger. The spring should rest against the pin on the paw.if you have put it in properly, you can push the paw back and feel the spring tension.Put it back in the gun and your done.

On The MIM Triggers the hand Spring isn't captive & can fall out very easily & become lost..Hopefully yours is still in the hammer correctly..
Here's a Link to another thread were there are some pics to help you out..

Headknocker's got that right. On the MIM guns, if you remove the hand (not really necessary usually) and aren't very carefull, the hand spring launches into never-never land. Easy to do when re-installing the hand also. Get a spare.
