As referenced in the GIRSAN Hi-Power thread, this is a recent acquisition. Once I give it some range time I will carry it. Presently, it sleeps in the safe. ;)

I'm not the biggest fan of their triggers, but the CZ-75 series sure does work and those Compacts just feel so good in the hand! Thanks for posting it! :)

I'm with Uncle Pauly! I have a P-01 Omega. I am a lefty and it has a double sided decocker or can be converted to cocked and locked. I sent mine to Cajun for the full package as well. It is just lovely now.

Okay, thanks for the nice posts, but now I have to ask:

1. Ladder13, your gun has a different safety than mine. What's up with that?

2. Uncle Pauly, what is the "Cajun Gunworks pro package upgrade"?

Thanks! ;)

So years ago we had a patrol deputy who carried a 1911, and a sergeant who favored a 9mm S&W. They teased each other mercilessly about their favored duty gun and load. Deputy took a call on an accidental shooting involving a third-gen Smith 9mm. Guy stuck the loaded pistol into his waistband just right of his navel, and it went off, seriously and negatively affecting his manhood.

After they loaded the poor guy into the ambulance (he survived) the deputy called the sergeant and said that he now understood why they were called "decockers," but he now had empirical proof that the nine mike was a "weenie gun."

CZ makes two versions of the Model 75 Compact without an accessory rail. The standard Compact is like ISCS Yoda's and has a steel frame and the PCR (Police, Czech Republic) Model is like Ladder13's which has a decocker and an alloy frame.

The non-decocker CZ's can be carried in Condition 1 if desired. The decocker models only drop the hammer to a half-cock notch which lessens the initial stroke to fire it from the safe/decocked position.

I am a big fan of CZ's products. If you are like me and detest polymer framed, striker fired guns they are well worth a look. Here's my PCR. The California compliant models only come with two 10 round magazines but for those that live in free states the standard mags are 14 round.

One caution is not to dry fire them without snap caps. The roll pin through the slide that is part of the firing pin assembly can get peened and break. Cajun Gun Works sells an inexpensive solid pin as a replacement. I just use a snap cap or put a small rubber O ring in the back of the slide to cushion the hammer blow. Just don't forget to remove it when done with dry fire practice !

Speaking of CZ 75 compacts, do y'all know anything about the CZ 2075 RAMI?

I almost bought one ~15 years ago, but the DA trigger pull was AWFUL.

Now that I'm very pleased with my CZ 75 TSO, I'm wondering if I should check it out again.

A 2075 BD RAMI makes an excellent carry gun. It has edged out my 3913 and CS9 on the days that I carry a semi auto. Like it so much that I bought a second one, so that I can use one for range time and keep my carry clean. They were discontinued 2 years ago, but available 2nd hand. DA trigger breaks in quickly and is equivalent to a smooth K frame. Second the warning on the CZ contagion, as I am in double digits. Also, heard great thing about sending them off to CGW. But, I have ordered my own parts from CGW and various aftermarket suppliers, then changed/stoned the parts myself. Once I had a roll pin spare, I tested out the warning about dry fire without snap caps. After about 2000, you will damage the stock roll pin and the firing pin will stick extended.

Yep, I have quite a collection too.
Cajun Gunworks will also just sell you the pieces, and you can do it yourself. David Milan is a good guy to talk to, and I recommend it!
Some of the changes can affect the function of your safety. That is something to know going in, but please call him about that, for his products have changed dramatically in the course of 3 decades that I've done business with him. He's one of the good guys!

I'm fairly new to CZ pistols. I have a 97BD and this 75BD Police. Both were worked on by Cajun Gun Works. Both are great guns. The factory original guns I have fired were decent pieces, but CGW makes them much better.

Changed trigger, thin aluminum grips and the mag drops free. Ex shooter, but a tad heavy to cc compared to other newer options.
