Thank you for the continued responses, all! Stuart, no plans for CCW carry, but whichever one I choose (although my desire for the CZ is growing exponentially by the response), it will become my primary house gun more than likely.
not sure if the kadet is still available as just the slide, barrel, mag......know it comes as a complete pistol.
.
I did a bit of research on the kadet after "samnev" mentioned it. Price is a bit much for me for a conversion kit so I will probably not be in too big a hurry to get that. Plus I have my dad's old Ruger Standard that I have a bunch of ammo to put through.Think you have that backwards, CZ used to offer the 22lr Kadet as a whole gun or as a conversion kit upper ,
They now only offer the conversion kit upper .
Here is the bad news, The .22lr CZ75B Kadet (whole gun) was around $800 when they were available , The upper conversion is around $450 (comes with one mag) and the spare magazines are around $45, also they only hold only 10 rounds....and the mags are cheap painted metal with plastic lower half ...
This is very strange considering the 9mm CZ75B (whole gun) is around $500 with 2 high quality 16 shot MecGar black chrome mags
In the convertible 22lr /9mm market I recently found out Sig Saur offers a complete .22lr handgun built on either their P-226 or P229 frame for around $500 (one mag) but you can purchase a 9mm , 40, 357 sig upper for around $300 that drop on the .22lr frame.
I love the CZ Kadet but Sig has them beat for price and value if the Sig Saur P226 or P229 in 22lr is as good as people claim it is.
I totally agree as I have the LW compact also. I used to have the full size mod.75B and it was great just a bit heavy for CC.75 D Compact. Will never let you down.

I own five CZ 75's and 85's as well as a 97 in 45acp and I love them, in my humble opinion they are the BEST 9mm semi auto pistol ever made. As good as anything Sig or HK makes.
I know thats a big statement but I think it would be hard if not impossible to prove me wrong, for durability, accuracy, ergonomics, price and just plain old good looks they are at the top of my semi auto list.
Glocks are popular for their simplicity and simplicity is good when it comes to tools."
"Tools" like what guns are....tools. There's nothing amazing about them. Hammer, nail, ratchet. ...When it comes to who??? Did he really say that?
If I wanted a toy I'd buy a train set.
I don't like the way glock sets in my hand. Is that alright with you? (Or whoever you quoted)
And I have to add, whoever you quoted has an opinion. He thinks one of the most well distributed combat and law enforcement handguns (CZ) is a toy. That pretty much shows me where he's actually been in tHe real world of conflict and defense. Most of the people that carry glocks carry them because they are issued. A lot of them aren't gun people.
MY gun fits MY hand and it has proven to be reliable, for a long time, in some nasty conditions and situations.
That's MY opinion, not necessarily someone else.
Now Jeff Coopers opinion I like.
You know what's crazy? I got it in my head I wanted a CZ75B back when CZ had a fire at their manufacturing plant. CZ75B's, in particular the matte stainless, couldn't be found. What did I do? I bought a couple mags and a set of CZ checkered wood grips. Might as well stock up on the things I'll need while waiting for supply to return.
Fast forward to today. I still have the extra mags and grip panels. What I don't have is a CZ75B Matte Stainless. Every time I hold a CZ, I fall in love. When I dry fire the trigger, I fall right out of love. I'm on the fence.
I picked up a 75B in polished stainless a few weeks ago and love it. Nice trigger, soft shooting, small and consistent groups. Unexpected side benefit was the upturned beavertail which is not what was pictured on the company website. The only drawback were the sights. Going to try some bright paint or nail polish on them.Last night, I picked up a brand new matte stainless CZ75b from my FFL in the Chicago suburbs. I cleaned her up today and she's ready for the range. The trigger on this one is excellent. The test target is dated 3-19-2015. A couple of pics:

My go-to handguns are staged on the inside of the safe door. They have all been S&W revolvers, until the CZ75B unseated one.My go to semi auto pistol without question or hesitation are my CZ's
