So that Duracell thread got me thinking. Curious what everyone carries for a light these days. We talk about our guns, sometimes our knives, what about our lights?

Mine: Nightcore EC11. Tiny size but packs 900 lumens on a single 18350.

Got a bunch of lights, including some Surefires, but right now I typically carry a 4Sevens Quark X 123^2 Tactical clipped to my pocket and an Olight keychain light. The Quark runs on 2 CR123 batteries and maxes out at 360 lumens. The Olight is rechargeable via USB and has a low setting at 50 lumens and a high setting at 150 lumens.

Been thinking about getting that Streamlight that runs on CR123 or AA alkaline batteries, or possibly something with a higher lumen output to replace the Quark. Neither is a high priority right now, though.

Generally a Surefire PX2. We have a collection of them - 10 or more. I have 3 PX3s, 2 of which are on rifles and the other of which is waiting for my next rifle.

A Mini Maglite AA cell model. Got the first one as a birthday present in 1987, carried one daily ever since. Lost a couple due to leaky batteries, have 2 that are Frankenlights. Meets my needs.

A Thru Nite Ti3 which runs off a single AAA battery with three modes and a strobe. Very small clipped to a front pants pocket and very reasonably priced. I always keep,a spare in case I loose it...which I have done.

I just tested my strobe mode and I think I'm in another dimension

I took a class some years ago and the instructor demonstrated the effectiveness of the strobe light. He had a student resist his efforts to push him. No problem. The instructor then used a strobe light on the student, and the student was unable to resist.

I don't doubt that. Seriously, it's like an hour later and I'm still seeing light disks floating around.

I carry a Streamlight Microstream in my pants pocket every day. So small it goes unnoticed, yet puts out good light when needed. :D

Back when I was still working, I carried a Streamlight Stylus in my shirt pocket every day. Again, small, barely noticable, yet had plenty of power for my daily needs at work. ;)

FWIW, I have a Nitecore MT1A, and the pocket clip is junk. It pops off if you look at it wrong. I even found threads on a light forum (candlepowerforum.com...?) that was nothing but tips on how to keep the clip from coming off, ranging from using thread to just gluing it on with epoxy. It's a good light and I carried it for a long time, but I left the clip off and just stuck it in my pocket. One of the reasons I went back to carrying my Quark is that the clip is much better and I preferred having the light clipped to my pocket so I didn't have to go digging for it.

Maybe the clip on yours is fine and works better than mine, but I think it's something you should be aware of.

I actually originally bought this flashlight with the intent to mount it on a weapon. I chose a flashlight with a 1" tube, compact and with a side mounted switch that could be put in 1" rings. I took it off and have never mounted it again, just carry it. Knock on wood, no issues with the clip yet but I do tend to take it off and put it back on quite frequently so even if it started falling off, I wouldn't mind it much. They must have redesigned the clips to "reach around" more because this one is pretty secure.

Streamlight Microstream USB for the last 3 years. Really great rechargable LED light that hangs on my keychain.

This right here. Except mine lays loose in my pocket. It was FDE in color but is almost silver now. Great light. I gave one to my best friend that is a police officer, he liked his so much that he, in turn gave one to his Dad who is a reserve officer.

Well not for pocket carry for sure but it´s a good light and has a holster - Klarus ST 15 rated at 1100 Lumens. Not much of a thrower tough.Since I´m a sucker for a thrower I´ve got myself an Astrolux FT 03 . Also not for pocket carry, but comes with a holster as well.

Regards, Ray
