Adding new posts of in-stock items I stumble upon. Hoping this helps out some fellow S&W member needing some supplies. Scroll to latest post for new listings.

I know it ain't the cheapest, but Cabelas has some Berry's plated bullets in stock. Couple 9mm: 115gr, 124 gr RN & HP. Also have some 40/10, and some 45 too. Use points or earn point I guess. Maybe someone who is looking will be happy to purchase some. If have a Cabelas card, don't forget Site-to-store shipping is Free, or use "CLUBFIVE" promotion code for $5 shipping.

What are the pros / cons for plated versus FMJ versus lead cast? Other than not finding as much load data for the plated bullets are there any real cons if I am just looking for target bullets? I almost ordered some of these this morning. Thanks.

Generally, plated bullets are the in the middle between cast & FMJ in terms of cost. They make fine "plinking" bullets, and I found very good accuracy out of the 230gr. bullets in my 1911. Here is Berry Manufacturing's summation of the differences.

They also state the following when loading their plated bullets:
We recommend using hard cast load data or start with mid-range jacketed data. Make sure data is below 1250fps unless you are using a Thick-Plated bullet that we list a higher max velocity for like the 9mm 124gr HBRN-TP that can be shot to 1500fps in open class guns like a .38 Super.

Personally, I like using Berry's Bullets for plinking, ends up costing me about $.18 per round to reload (40S&W) using them. Once you work up a load, they can be very accurate.
For my 165gr I'm using 5.1gr of HP-38 and a CCI primer with good results.
Cabela's seems to be getting them in stock about every two weeks now, but they don't last more than a day.

As of 12:30pm they had .41, .45 & .45LC left in stock.

I've had the opposite happen also, a friend of mine kept telling me they had primers in stock, but they showed sold out for me. So he ordered the for me .

Try this link and see what it says.
Cabela's: Berry's Preferred Plated Pistol Bullets

I guess I was one of the lucky ones and placed my order just in time then. I don't even see them listed in the reloading components section at all anymore so I guess they were all gobbled up.

I told my brother about them first yesterday, and he got in an order for a box of 9mm's. So he was all happy.

Well Cabelas is down to only 3 types of Berry's plated bullets left in-stock.
.32 Caliber 71 Grain RN
9 mm 124 Grain HP
10mm/.40 Caliber 165 Grain FP

Powder Valley is still showing several in-stock from Missouri Bullet.

Berry's 124 grain HP makes one fine round. Somebody better snag 'em!

If I didn't have a 500 Count of Hornady 124gr. FMJRN on backorder already with Cabelas--at a cheaper price. I know I'd be buying a couple of those Berry's 124gr HP's.

Powder Valley called me a little while ago. I had put an order in for Berry's 220gr FP bullets for 44 cal. They said Berry's had discontinued those and that they had the 240gr RNFP's instead for 70something for a box of 500, but I passed. Don't know if they still have them if anyone wants them, but there it is.

The only Berry's plated left at Cabelas now are the

.32 Caliber 71 Grain RN.

Powder Valley is showing a large selection of Berry's Plated in stock.

Got the 115 Round Nose and the 124 Hollow Point by telephone order. The customer service rep said she was happy to finally have some components in stock, orders come in and the stock goes quick. I believe it. Used my Club 5 for shipping.
