An agonizing decision but today as I am typing this my wife is taking our cat Peanut to the vet to be put down. I am at work and can’t leave.
We are unsure how old she is being I took her in as a stray. She just showed in my works parking lot, looking for food, water, and shelter. We have had her about 17 years.
In Nov. she had a hard time walking but after a few days she was doing better.
Lately she’s had “accidents” and her back legs are having difficulty supporting her back end. Plus she’s been losing weight.
She followed me around and was my daily companion in the bathroom while I was showering and doing what you do in there.
We tried to give her a good life, but all good things come to an end.
We love her and will miss her.
Goodbye Peanut! I hope to see you again.
A last minute pic I snapped on her way.
Damn cat!

My most sincere condolences.

I post this every time one of us has to say goodbye to a companion animal.

I've never had a pet that wasn't a rescue and it's been my experience that they know you saved them and they're grateful (even when they're being little buttheads).

take the time to grieve but then go save another one.

Sorry to read this, my condolences.

I well know what it is like I have had to do the "right thing" on 11 members of my four legged friends over the years.

So sorry to hear that!I have two cats and love them to the moon and back. Just recently ordered them new collars from Pet express against ticks as i am afraid of those a lot and heard many sad stories. Hope everyone is well and keep their little furry friends safe too.

I just got back from having my 17 year old cat put down also. It is a hard thing to do but I'm sure I will go through it again.
