Date check on my police trade.

I bought a Detroit police trade in from Buds. It's a used full size .40 M&P with night sights. Night sights were dead, so I sent them to Trijicon and they fixed them for free. It has no safeties on it..If you have one in the chamber and drop the magazine it will still fire...I tried it to make sure. Can anyone check the date of manufacture?

fyi you should be able to contact S&W's customer service and with the serial # get the manu date; they are usually pretty quick on it via email and may be able to do it over the phone as well

The one I got from Bud's was DPD #0585, and the fired casing in the pocket in the top of the lid foam was dated 6/13. My nite sights are OK in blackness, but no illumination in a dark room. I've never had Tritium sights, so I don't know any better. I love the dickens out of mine, it's a range and house defense only. Shield 40 for carry.

I simply used the live chat feature on their website a couple of weeks ago. Not hardly 2 minutes went by from start to finish and a nice young lady gave me all of the information I was after for the used gun I had bought.
