Anyone still love these? I rarely take it out of the safe, although it is a bobble free gun, I have never had a failure to feed with it - but it is a heavy thing - all SS. Just old school with the safety, decock lever - magazine disconnect and 9mm. I got it when I was with the PD, shot it often on lunch break to get rid of the "old" ammo. Keep it for posterity more than anything.

I'm waiting for a deal on one right now. I've seen several but they were ragged out from PD carry. I want another 9mm shooter and I think this one will do just fine.

I love them. Back in the 1980's, I ran down to a Tucson gunstore to pick up one of the first 3rd gen ones that hit town.
It was mis-stamped 659...which happened to a bunch of the first ones off the line. I traded it off like dummy....but since replaced it, just a bit newer vintage (black/MIM hammer & trigger).

Currently, my only Smith auto's are a 5906, 659 and a 4006. ALL stainless and built like a tank.
Not ccw piece's, but I have plenty of others to cover that.

Charlie, there is one for sale on the Glocktalk forum for about $400.00 From the pics it looks like it is in great shape. It may be a FTF but I'm sure shipping can be worked out. Good luck

FWIW:

The last I heard CDNN was still selling NIB 5906's all day long for $399.00.

CDNN is also selling Police trade in 5906's at lower prices.

I think they're sold out now, but CDNN was also selling NIB 6906's at the same price.

Here are the ones I bought a few months ago.. The addition of the CT Lasergrips make the 5906 a perfect home defense choice..

Best Wishes,

Jesse
