After screwing up, as usual, I think I've got it together! Bought a 2" Model 10, serial D95xxxx. Like new, no box. Can you tell me when it was made? It's a 10-5 and a Swiss watch. $475 OTD. I traded Colt Mark IV government 1911 in nickel, all original except someone filed the top of the slide for some type of target sight fit. Probably took a beating. The 10 is SB, blue, looks like new. Not interested if it was fair because I'm happy. As always, thank you. BTW, it's hailing here in southern WV. Blesses

Ironically, that revolver was made smack-dab in the middle of the Bangor-Punta era -- when the word was that S&W quality had gone down the tubes...

Yeah, I know about Bangor-Punta, that time period still makes the Classics look like....

rwsmith, don't get me started! That 10-5, 2" is a sometimes shooter, mostly a guincher. It's a work of art, hand made by some fella who never imagined CNC machinery. That 10 is tight, timed, accurate and just a joy to hold. I'm 70, many Smiths and pizzas under my belt. I know quality when I see it, I've just lived too
long. Pity, our offspring will never know the difference. I'm so glad to have seen the difference. Our parents were machinists and craftsmen. That's over

This 1 is not new, or a "Beauty Queen"! Is a 10-5 from 1974. Sure is fun to shoot though. Bob
