Date of Manufacture model 37

I do have the 3rd edition of the standard catalog of s&w, but I have most of my stuff in storage and am temporarily in an apartment while looking for a place. I may have an opportunity to get a model 37 no dash in nearly perfect condition, but I really will only be interested in it if it is a 60's or older one. The serial number is 498Jxx.

prob '71 or '72 (my guess is '72)...those were the years of the "rolling j" serial numbers...1J1-999J99...the j slid across as the numbers ran up...

it's close to the 60's...

Thanks, I'll pass on it then. I have plenty of S&W's from the 70's and only one from the 60's and one pre-war, just looking for good deals on older ones.
