Date of manufacture...

I recently purchased a S&W Model 49 and I would like to know the date of manufacture. The barrel is not pinned and the number on the bottom of the grip starts ANPxxxx.

If you have the original box with end label we can tell you its age pretty precisely, but early 1986 would be an approximate guess. Someone here may have a nearby gun with a known date.
