date on model 36

Can someone help me date this fine revolver? SN#ALV81--

What "dash" is it? With that serial number it has to be a 36-something.

That's what puzzled me. There isn't a dash stamped on it.

June 1985.

It's a "no dash". The -1 came out in 1967 but that dash only applied to a certain 3-inch heavy barrel version. The -2 & -3 came out in 1988.
