Bennezette is a neat place; I used to pass through it en route to bear camp in Potter County (near Costello, if I'm recalling correctly) and I got to see the herd once a few years ago. Oh course, I was mostly in it for the beer, rather then the bear. It's hard to believe that such wild country exists in west-central PA. Thanks for posting. -S2

Thanks for posting. As a former resident of Crawford County, I appreciate the photos. It seems that Elk County has added elk to the herd. I haven't seen too many Crawford's added to Crawford County. It's relatively unknown that PA has an elk population & are protected.

Sorry for botching that photo post somewhat.I guess old dogs can learn new tricks, just takes 'em longer.Actually you can hunt the elk now.Permits are available through the Pa.Game comission on a lottery basis. Thanks for looking.

Great pictures. I think elk are such majestic animals.

I took these last fall in Boxley Valley, Arkansas. I riding my motorcycle through the area when I rounded a curve and the cow was standing in the road. I stopped and pulled out my pocket camera and got a few shots of the cow and bull crossing the road. I could have sat and watched them all day.
