I just recently got a M&P9c along with an Apex DCAEK kit. I was wondering if I should go ahead and install the kit before my first trip to the range. I guess my only worry is that I should make sure there is no problem with the pistol necessitating a trip back to S&W. I just don't want to have to install and then remove the parts in order to avoid any warrantee issues.

Of course there is always the possibility that I am over thinking this and I should just put the parts in and shoot the darn gun.

After, so you can see the difference on your second trip.

Welcome to the forum by the way.

I agree. Go the range with the stock setup, then make the switch -- it will increase your perspective (and enjoyment).

I shot my new M&P9c today -- all stock -- alongside my beloved M&P9 FS with the Hi-Viz front site, Warren Tactical rear sight, and Apex sear and USB. The M&P9c is fine, but the M&P9 is wonderful. So, the 9c gets the Apex treatment soon... to make it as great (it will keep its stock night sights).
