Saw a dead deer floating in my pond tonight exactly down range of my shooting range. Been sighting in a new scope on my M&P 10 the last couple weekends from 100 yards so I thought for sure I shot the doe without wanting to. Whew! Got the boat on the water tonight and rowed over to find no holes in the beast. Puller her out and waway from the pond.
Bittersweet feeling - knowing I didn't kill it by accident but sadness it died for whatever reason. Nature can be cruel for sure. Lesson learned though is to be sure your range won't allow errant bullets to kill wildlife or trees or whatever.
This one will cost me a couple hundred for a higher berm. Plus I need to call the DNR now to see if they want to check it for disease. Good luck!
