Our local Gander Mountain has had a couple of older model 10`s that have been reblued over the rust. Been there almost two years and I cant understand why they have not sold yet at $1100. each. They are so bad that I wont make a special trip in just to look at guns.

I have given up on going to Gander Mountain to purchase anything that is firearms related. Their prices on their new and used firearms are just plain ridiculous. And that goes for their reloading supllies also.. The only plus they had was when their firearms were in stand up wall racks with cable locks and you could pick up and handle the firearms. Now, the last time I was in Gander Mountain, they had removed the stand up racks and placed the firearms behind the counters.
From now on Bass Pro in Orlando will get my money...

Dave,

Don't go to Gander Mountian in Erie, PA. They won't sell you a rifle if you are from Florida. Say it is illegal to sell to Floridians. Tried to buy a Savage NRA (late '30's manufacture)there in Oct. and they refused. I asked them when did Florida start being a Commie State as compared to PA.

They still had their stand up racks where you could handle them.

I bought a lawn chair from GM this summer as an advertised special. Didn't even go and check the guns out....

GM is the same here....i just wonder how they stay in business

Stopped by Cabala's in W.VA. and their prices are as bad and they did not have what their website showed. The salesman there said they had sold two Browning Medalists the day before for $1500 a piece. Some how I highly doubted that since they had listed them for over a year.

i made my first visit to a gander mt. in greensboro, nc, about a month ago. they had a load of guns, but the prices were insane! i seriously don't know if i would have been tempted on anything, if they had been having a 50% off sale.

being the first time i had been in one, i thought that maybe it was just this location, but maybe they are all like that! man, i don't know how they actually sell anything!

Once in a while they have something that is fairly priced, not often, just once in a while. Must be all the city guys that have never seen a real gunshop that are keeping them in business.

Model 10's for $1100:eek:

I have gotten two deals from Gander Mt., both were because the clerk mispriced them....a post-82 60 1 7/8" for $220 and a Colt King Cobra for under $400.

There has been a rusty Police Postive at my local GM priced at $800 that's been sitting there for years, imagine that....

The GM's by me suck for deals too. $499 for 2nd gen Glock police trades that look like they were tied to a car and dragged down a road?

Cabela's ,while not great prices, are still way better on new guns around here.

I miss Sportsman's warehouse, they had the best new gun prices in the area

Gander Mountain Bargins

As stated, Gander Mountain was, I thought, a welcome addition to the neighborhood. As time progressed their prices were suspect and then ridiculous, There is an early "I" frame hand ejector in .32 caliber with the nickel replaced and a price tag of $1100.00, reduced from??? I had inquired with several clerks as to why they valued this particular revolver so highly, always the same reply, "We just sell them we don't price them"! I haven't visited in a month or so but will believe the revolver in question will remain in their inventory. This is the Mooresville Store, now I'm wondering if I should visit their Greensboro Store?

There's one for sale right now on this forum for $625.

This Gander Mnt seems goofy on their prices.. They have the 25-5 @ $2199 Yet a week ago I picked up a old Remington Model 33 single shot 22 in about 90% condition for $99 Not a super deal but, well worth the $$ I have 2 Model 25-5's and I wonder what they will give for them !!
One of the saleman oneday was telling another guy who had a Model 19 he was thinking about tradeing in they give 75% of what the would sell it for. If thats the case (which I doubt) some lucky guy got $1500 or so for that 25-5
