Sigma's vs. Glock owners
I have owned my Sigma .40 for about 7 months now. When i first got the gun I took it home and cleaned it like any other responsible gun owner would. I took it to the range and shot 250 rounds through it, All the things i had read about the trigger were right on the money. The trigger was very heavy. I figure 12-15 or so lbs. I took it home and did the trigger job and removed the pig tale spring. This took it down to about 10lbs or so. The next day I went to get more rounds for the range and I asked the sales guy about the trigger pull and he reccomended I use a good polymer lube where the tigger assembly meets the polymer. I don't know the name of the piece but its triangular in shape. I put a drop of Tetra Gun lube in that spot, took the gun to the range and Boy what a difference. the pull is taken down to right about 7-8 lbs and its not gritty at all. Just like a Glock.
I have been on other forums and have caught a world of you know what from Glock owners. They all say "Sigmas are a pile, they always misfire, jam, etc." I went on to tell them the gun is internally a Glock, Guess what kind of stuff I stepped in. I persisted to ask these guys if they have ever owned or fired a Sigma and the all were insulted I even asked. Of course they all said "no". I went down to the range yesterday and afterwards I wanted to see about selling another gun, the range master picked up the Sigma with out really looking at it and said "nice piece". I told him "it was not for sale and the Sigma was my favorite gun and it was a great gun". He then proceeded to tell me "ya, sure, when you can get it to work." I asked him if he was a Glock owner. of course he said "yes".
Most Glock owners in general are arragant and can never see past there own nose, so to speak.
The Sigma is a great gun. I have put over 15,000 round through mine, never had a malfunction, jam or any negitive exp. with it. I consistantly knock the bullseye out of targets no matter the distance (up to 50 yrds.). I clean my guns thuroughly everytime I shoot and the sigma is the only gun I have NEVER had a problem with. If you are thinking about buying a Sigma .40 ot 9mm Just go ahead and get it. Do the trigger job, get some good polymer lube, take good care of the gun and you will never have a problem with it. it is a great investment for the money. In CA they are more expensive than anywhere else and you can only get the 10 round mag. but it is a great gun. Don't listen to Glock owners, and you can always tell if they are. Just go out shoot them on the range knowing you paid 1/2 the price for a better gun.
