Debating on the sigma...

There are a lot of put-downs for the Sigma, but with a little TLC it'll work just fine. There is a trick for the trigger, then do a lot of shooting and you have a working gun.
Clone? Yes, so?

Just purchase one from a local dealer, gave me it for 40% less when it was new, only 2 mags shot from it before law enforcement took it away due to a felony. First mag out at 30 yards, all within 3", awesome weapon. Problem I have is I cannot find a decent ankle holster for it, any ideas?

The dealer was a convicted felon?

an ankle holster for a Sigma??? they must be making them a hell of a lot smaller now

No!!!!

Sorry, should have explained it better. He purchased all the guns from the spouse. The husband got convicted of multiple DWI's so he had to sell his guns to the dealer. Great deal, the sig, 3 magazines, trigger lock, GunVault mini-vault all for $200.00

I own the SW40VE and the Ruger SR9c. I carry the Ruger daily because of its size. In colder weather, I will go back to carrying the Sigma. Frankly, If there was a Sigma 9mm compact, I would buy it immediately. If they had a "SD9c" all the better. I LOVE the trigger on my stock Sigma. I have fired it enough times that the gritty feel went away. It is not any worse than a revolver and it has no other safeties to worry about. I actually feel safer carrying the Sigma. Now the Ruger has one of the best triggers out there. By best, I suppose that means that it is smooth, light and has a clean break. If you arm and disarm much and use IWB holsters, you will eventually thank a higher power for safeties and/or DAO triggers.

Oh, and for the Sigma bashers, just know that because I like mine, it doesn't make you crazy or stupid.

the sigma will always be a great starter gun for anyone breaking into the world of firearms. If it's your first like it was mine, you won't even notice the trigger pull and it will make you a better marksmen when you eventually upgrade.. it wont become a safe queen because by the time your ready to purchase something a little more fancy your spouse or child will be ready to pick up the sigma and learn on it just like you did.
this should become someone sig.

Idk about giving a child a 9mm and teaching him/her how to be proficient with it.... I'd rather worrie about giving them a bb gun and teaching them gun safety until there mature enough for the real deal

who said it was a little child? just saying perhaps its a 14 year old with the prerequisite firearm safety classes.. I don't know about you, but I think its a mortal mistake to just hand over a firearm. just trying to point out the sigma is a great pistol to learn on and will always have a place for the new beginner shooters in your household. -1 for trying to twist the statement. or hell. maybe its your full grown 24 year old..
and for the record, when my daughter turns 10 shes getting her first pink red rider bb gun and a safety course as her present.

My 59 ahd Blackhawk both shoot fine. All my rifles and shotguns shoot fine. My Sigma with low light sights, three white dots in a row, is 5 inches low at 35 feet, has been for two years no matter who shoots is. I've learned to compensate.

I have had several students bring them to CCW classes and they all functioned fine. However, every one of them had what I thought to be excessively heavy triggers.

If I shoot my SW9VE right after shooting my Glock 17, it feels like something is wrong with the trigger pull because the Glock's trigger pull is so much nicer.
If you had only the Sigma, it would do OK for you, but you could do better.

Pass on the sigma.never here anything good about a sigma. Buy m&p or get a glock 17.good luck and happy shooting.

I bought a Sigma 9mm and love it!! The trigger parts just needs a little finishing and it is a great gun. The trigger pull does not bother me since my first pistol was a Kel Tec P11 with a 8.5# trigger.

I do not go by what I have read on the internet as far as the Sigma. A Kel Tec had a bad reputation from some people, but I really like my P11. How can you say pass on the Sigma if you have never shot one??

Sigma bashers by and large have never shot one, much less even held one. They are just going on what they've heard from someone else, who usually never shot one either.

:D

Thank you very much for your comment! I totally agree.

For the price you pay, this is a GREAT gun.

I would buy another in a second. The Sigma is portrayed as a "cheap" gun by some people. Which is correct, an inexpensive gun that is a GREAT value.
