Oh and btw I ask about the glock like guts.. Because glock is a decent standard and id rather buy american everything not just assembled american (like the xd).. So tell me what you think, hey maybe some pics even? :D

Ok I had to basically throw my .38 because my former boss hired some tweaker to work at the shop and he tucked it on his nuts and the sweat (and probably the dope) rusted it out pretty bad.... I trusted it (had to pull it twice at work...this area is full of wanna be gangsters) and it shot where ever I wanted it.. Ever have any serious issues when you needed it to work?

If you want a basic semi it's a good gun. I had a few extra $ so I went with the SD40.

The Sigma is the bottom of the barrel in the S&W lineup. It's not a "good" pistol, cost is the only thing it has going for it. Save up a little more money and get an M&P. They don't cost all that much more as long as you shop around for a good deal.

Pass on the sigma.never here anything good about a sigma. Buy m&p or get a glock 17.good luck and happy shooting.

Buy the Sigma! I own a .40 cal and use to have the 9mm.If you have about $150 extra dollars get the M&P.The Sigma has a lifetime warranty...the Glock only has a 1 year warranty.Do some reading thru this forum and see how many negative replies there are on the Sigma...not too many.
Also,go to the M&P forum and read where that LEO shot 3 perfect scores over a Glock! Sure,it was a S&W dino gun but it just goes to show you that Glock ain't all that!

Haven't had her that long yet but she is still going strong:

:D pshtt... only good deals are online around here... Some jerk tried to sale me a hi point for $300! I laughed as I left... I'd rather shoot the finger :p and yea this cop I'm cool with said get a m&p maybe ill get both for double measure

One thing I dont understand is... If a sigma is a glock CLONE why does it suck? Isnt glock the polymer standard? Wouldnt that make the glock a boo boo pistol with a improved trigger?

The Sigma does not suck as others would have you believe. In my 50 years of shooting I’ve owned quite a few handguns and I can truthfully say that both of my Sigmas have given me excellent performance. And yes, I would trust my life with one.

Ultimately it will be your own choice but do your homework, keep an open mind, shoot one if you can and take the bashing from the haters with a grain of salt.

I have had several students bring them to CCW classes and they all functioned fine. However, every one of them had what I thought to be excessively heavy triggers.

Yes,they are. But,if you call S&W and tell them the trigger feels "gritty" they will do some internal polishing on it.And,as you keep shooting it the trigger gets better.

At first, the trigger was my concern but I now have over a 1K rounds through both the .40 and 9mm and I can honestly say it is not a concern any more. In fact after about 50 to 100 rounds I got pretty used to the trigger. Furthermore, for concealed carry and self defense purposes I find it a positive feature.

BTW, I sold my Glock, bought two Sigmas and have absolutely no regrets. :D

Or just save a few bucks and buy a Ruger P95. Just as ugly and it isn't the pride of the Iraqi Army

OK, I admit it... That just gave me a good laugh. I have met a few that didn't care for their P95, but it wasn't for a lack of function on the gun's part. But I can say the same about the Sigma, some don't like them, but it isn't for a lack of function on the gun's part. I don't care for the P90, but that thing is built like a tank, feeds anything, and won't die. But I don't care for that one either. But I won't call them junk for one second. You might see if you can find a range rental and see what you think for yourself.

Every shoot the early keltec P11s now those had a heavy trigger. The Sigma has a firm trigger but I wouldnt call it heavy.

several years ago I bought a used sigma .380 pistol. is was small and fit in my pocket. Is this the same sigma pistol you guys are talking about?
