Well this was interesting to find on the game cam. You just never know what is going on outside while you are ready to watch the late news.

Are these gals trying to establish territory or just dancing the night away?

Mule deer used to winter in my back yard out west. They were there often enough that we could pick out individuals. After a while, we learned the "pecking order" the does had established. Those girls were very protective of their rank and ruthless in its enforcement. They believed in a measured response. It began with a gentle one foot front leg forward kick and escalated to a reared up vicious two footed stomp. Your ladies seem to be working up to the nuclear option.

Maybe they are just happy that they don't have to haul Santa and his sleigh all over the world tonight.

They do make for an interesting picture. Never seen that before

If there is food there, they may be trying to scare each other away so their young get the larger portion.

I've seen whitetail does smack the tar out of each other with their front hooves. I wouldn't want to catch one in the kisser. They can get downright mean.
