Definition of "snub nose"?

Is there an "official" definition? Is it any revolver with a barrel of less than 3"?

My take it is a revolver 2.5" or less. I have three snubbies one J, one K and one L frame.

Check out this site. I knocked off the www at the start so as not to make it a hot link. I was reprimanded last week for showing a hot link (admin said it took too much bandwith) even though I see hot links here all the time. I think of snub to mean barrel length, and I include the 3" barreled revolvers. Some folks get upset with that, and others don't care.

A three inch N frame is not "small" but it is a snub, just like the 3" K frame. The folks at Snubnose mention the snub .44 Specials, FWIW.
