Hi All,
So i have a question. I have a M & P 9 Ported Performance 5". In Mid-January I found a great deal on a Deltapoint 7.5 MOA Red Dot. It was from Sportsmansguide online. I renewed my membership and basically got the Deltapoint for about 319.00. Great deal right? So whats the problem.

Well it wasn't in stock it was on backorder until 2/3. Well 2/3 came and i got an email the in stock date changed to 2/16. Well 2/16 came and I got an email the in stock date changed to 2/27. Of course today is 2/28 and i got an email stating the in stock date changed to 3/20.

So now I wonder. Should I keep waiting for some future date that keeps changing or......should I just dish out more and get something like a Trijicon RMR07? For the life of me I can't find the Deltapoints in stock anywhere and the few that have it, have them marked up to 450.00+ . Right now I can get a RMR07 for about 540.00 in 2 days.

What do my fellow S&W buds thinks?

If I do go RMR would you recommend the 6.5MOA or 3.25MOA for the MP9 Performance Ported handgun? I'm thinking the 6.5MOA, but not sure.

The changing production dates suck, but I'd wait for the Deltapoint. (I like them that much;)) I'm just presuming I'd do this if I was in your situation, I already have my DP, so if I didn't, I may not feel the same. I've seen the DP's sell for around $400 on GB and Ebay.

Thanks. Still torn. I guess I could give Sportsmanguide 1 more month to see if the date keeps changing.

Also I noticed this red dot. Seems pretty nice and at a decent price. I have the Vortex Strikefire II on my AR and I really like it.

Yes, the Vortex Viper looks great. Unfortunately, it hasn't been shipped yet. I contacted Vortex about it and got this response:

Hello Sir,

Thank you for your time and interest in Vortex. Right now my best estimate for a release date on the Viper is around mid-late April. I'm also very excited to get my hands on one, but I'm going to wait until we get caught up on customer orders first before I pick one up for myself.

All the best,

So, I really like the Vortex, but it puts you in the same boat as the Deltapoint.

My local gun store has a Deltapoint sitting in their case. I think he wants $500 for it. Yep, it's a bit pricey, but at least it's there. Interested?

I talked to Leupold and he said they are not going to make the Deltapoint 2 lts going to be called the Deltapoint Pro and won't be ready until may ,after they finish there government contracts. So there you go the government is more important than you or I.Dr Dick

You might throw a bid on this one, it's no reserve so one never knows what it'll actually sell for. If it were me, I'd put a bid at the highest price I'm prepared to spend and see what happens. Leupold® Deltapoint Optics Excellent | eBay It's an "all mounts" version which you don't need for a Core, the cheaper "cross slot" mount works fine. But, if you get a good price.............

I put a Trijicon RMR 06 on mine. That one has the 3.25 MOA dot. I don't like the big dots if I try to take a 40 yd + shot.

I too felt like you. However, the Deltapoint in the link has the delta, not a dot. It looks like this:

With this one you can use the top point for longer, more precise shots.

Ya. That's why I really like the DeltaPoint with the Delta. It gives some flexibility to work with.

A few more years and that will be the actual size of the glass I will need. :D

My RMR started acting up about 2 weeks after I bought it. No idea how many rounds put through my 40 CORE before it started shutting off while shooting. I could rack the slide and it would come back on. Checked the battery connections, no joy. Amazon refunded my money before they even got it back. I ordered the Deltapoint with the 3.5 MOA through Amazon. The delivery date was late April but I received it in less then a week for 360 no S&H. I love it. The only problem is the locking screws on the back have to be loosen to adjust it but tighten before you shoot it. Got tired of taking it off to adjust and lock then reinstall. Had the rear site removed. Contacted Leupold by email and I guess they didn't seam to understand the problem they sent me 5 of the Bristol wrenches for the lock screws. I am going to try to bend one so it will fit between the Deltapoing and the front of the rear site. All pictures of MP CORE has the Deltapoint and the rear site mounted. That is the purpose of the thing to be able to use both.

How many times to you have to adjust the sight? I put mine on over a year ago, I zeroed it with the lock screws loose, took the sight off and tightened the lock screws, put it back on and haven't had to re-zero it since them. Before my surgery in January, I was shooting it 5-6 times a week (practice and matches) and it's never changed zero. If you're having to readjust it that much, then either there is something wrong with the sight, or your routine is changing your point of impact. That's one of the things I like about the Deltapoint, set it and forget it. :D (I put a CMore on my new gun so time will tell if I made the right choice, if I have to "fiddle" with it constantly I'm sure it will find a place on my shelf of failed equipment)

You right probably won't need to touch it again but if I change loads of bullets I want it dead on. If all my target shooting is going to be at 50 or 25 yds I want the group at POA. I normally bench rest a couple of groups first thing and also when I change loads. If you can't group dead center bench rest you sure aren't going to do it off hand.
All that said it is a darn good site and I am liking it a lot I thanked Leupold for their quick response and for the wrenches they sent me.

I haven't changed my load for probably a year and a half, why mess with a good thing. If I was changing then I would probably have to re-zero.

Sorry i didn't mean to change the post just wanted to add my comment on sites for the original poster.
Bkreutz I am just gotten back into handgun shooting as I haven't shot since I qualified Sharpshooter on the 1911 back in 84 when I was stationed in GTMO and on the Ground Defense Force. I probably loaded a million shotgun shells in the 60s when i was shooting trap and hunting but this handgun loading and shooting is a blast. I am enjoying the changes and have bought 3 S&W and a Remington 1911 R1 since the first of the year. I enjoy making changes and go to the range almost everyday. OK I will now get off this thread.

So i got my Deltapoint yesterday and boy does it look sweet on my MP9. Now for the problem which I know is my darn eyes. The triangle is a bit blurry. Since I can't really adjust the intensity of the triangle i can't get a clear focus. Pretty sure this is my darn astigmatism.

Does anyone else have this issue?

I have had lasik done but it doesn't appear it corrected my astigmatism. I may need to reschedule.

Also- (excuse my ignorance). But on the red dot when i use elevation (D) and go down(counterclockwise) it makes the triangle move up. When i go up (clockwise) it makes the triangle move down. Is this right?
