Denied a transfer....WHAT?

you guys actually document you're social security number and hand over the paperwork over to someone you don't know? when i did the paperwork for my last purchase i wouldn't document it and everything was done within the 48 hour waiting period.

SS # is marked optional on the form.. but most times it makes things flow smoother.. as a personal identifier.. but then again sometimes NOT:eek:.. hence the additional UPIN.. if needed..

Line #8
OPTIONAL

I have never entered my social security number on the ATF form and never will. It is clearly marked optional. I have purchased quite a few guns over the years and never had a question about not entering the social security number.

when i went in for a random P test for my job they wanted my SS#. i wouldn't tell them. they asked for the last 4 numbers, i wouldn't give them that either. they already knew my name, address and the name of the company i work for. they did the test, i passed. everyone was happy. they don't need it no matter what they say.

When I lived in Tampa,FL I went through this same thing. After getting my PIN# everything was good.
Those of you that are Floridiots, look at your drivers license #. The last number is most likely a "0". Mine was a "6". Before I received my PIN#, that # (6) was the thorn in my side. That meant there were (6) other people with my exact name. I'm sure you can see the dilemma this caused. :(

My guess is "someone" did not like my response and ........ well they know whom they are and what they did!

Why didn't you present your CCW permit at time of purchase/transfer?
It would preclude the need to be called in for a background check, and saved you the aggrivation of all this drama.

In Florida the call has to be made. The CCW only allows the permit holder to take it home without a waiting period.
