does anyone have a picture or a description of what the grips look like for a smith and Wesson model 60 that was made in 1970?
I just bought one, and need the correct grips.

also, I understand that the grips back then may have been serial numbered to the revolver. anyone know if that is so, and if there are exceptions.
thanks

They look exactly the same as other J-Frame stocks of the same period except for the Model 40. Checkered Walnut, no diamonds. SN will be stamped on back of Rt stock. Stock washers will be stainless steel instead of blued. When on the gun you can't tell Model 31, 30, 36, 60, 34, etc. stocks apart.

Keep an eye out in the "WTS" section of the classifieds, or place a "WTB" add. You can also find them on eBay. These are very plentiful grips and you should be able to easily find a nice set for somewhere in the $40 to $50 price range depending on condition.

Good luck with your search.
