Detroit PD M&P 40 from Aimsurplus

I got a LE trade in M&P 40 for $189.00 from Gander Mountain when the local store went out of business about five years ago. I also got a NOPD (New Orleans) marked Glock 22 third gen for $269.00 from Aim about two years ago. I later found another NOPD marked Glock 22 from a Louisiana police supply house ($299.00) and picked up a Ithaca model 37 marked LSP (it came from the Angola Prison) for $399.00 and a S&W model 64 marked EBRPSO (East Baton Rouge Parish) from the same supply house for $349.00. They no longer have any of these in stock.
There ARE still great deals on LE TRADE INS. Google LE TRADE IN GUNS and hold on!

The dimples are factory marks that identify which milling machine made the slide. We all have some variation.

I picked up a factory 9 mm barrel from Midway and some used 9 mm magazines from Gunbroker. Going to try it out in 9 mm next weekend. I also installed an Apex trigger which was a lot more work than I thought it was going to be. I had to take a considerable amount of plastic off of the back of the trigger to get it to release the striker. Unless I bought the wrong trigger it definitely was not drop in.

Although it is possible to use a factory 9mm barrel in a .40 M&P, I would suggest that you consider a dedicated .40 to 9mm conversion barrel such as one from KKM Precision. A factory 9mm barrel will fit and function however the tolerances between a factory 9mm barrel and a factory .40 barrel are different. I would err on the side of caution.

I hear ya, however I have had good luck with other 40’s such as the Sig P226 and I already bought the barrel so I am going to see how it shoots. This is not my primary defense gun so I’m not concerned. Thanks for the input though.

I agree with AppSt.Fan.
When I bought my first LE Trade in 1.0 MP 40 I tried my cousins 9mm barrel in it. It was slightly loose and I had a few FTF and FTE rds. And I had rds. hitting everywhere but the target (within 6"-9"). I bought a Storm Lake 40 to 9mm conversion barrel and never had another problem. I can now shoot a flea off of a gnats a** at 20 yards!
Spend the extra $$$ and do the right thing!

I had (4) MP 1.0 40 LE Trade In guns at one time (3 now). I installed an APEX polymer trigger in all (4) with no problems at all.
I did have problems with an APEX trigger in my SD9. I had to file the back side of the trigger as well. I removed it and installed a Galloway Boudica carbon fiber trigger into it and it made it a real tack driver!

Well, I took the M&P out to shoot this weekend and found out that the reduced power striker spring that came with my Apex trigger would not set of the Nato primers on the 9mm ammo I had. I did not consider this and left the spring at home. Lesson learned.

Something went wrong. You don't remove material from Apex triggers to install them. I'm guessing you purchased a trigger for a different version of M&P as to what you had.

I've installed APEX in three M&Ps now, and I've never done any sort of material removal.

The only APEX trigger I had to file was for my SD9.

When I picked up my M&Ps, they were T&E returns. Significant pricing advantage. :) Never had an issue with a T&E return, but I was also a certified M&P armorer at the time. Always bought 2 extra mags for a total of 5. Still have every T&E I bought.
