I came across this DB AR on CDNN. For $499, with all of the parts it's built with, I don't think you can build one to these specs any cheaper. According to the ad, DB does all of their own parts and work in house.

I'm not sure what "does all their own parts...in house" means, but I'd be really surprised if DB has started manufacturing bolts, carriers, barrels & receivers, in-house. Assembled from US made parts, sure.
Notwithstanding that AR specs are public knowledge, "an AR is an AR is an AR", and building a functional AR is probably easier than building a functional 1911-- DB customer service isn't outstanding. Roll the dice on whether you might need it.
AR prices will continue falling. There are makers with good support reps out there, as well.
