today i traded a smith mod. 29-3,blue,4 '' barrel wo,tt,th,rr,minty w/box ,for a minty model 48-2 ,blue,6'' barrel,original box,etc ,,,even up..did i do the smart thing?i kinda lean towards 22 cal.....be gentle,i still feel alittle queasy,,ha

thanks, sorry but at this time, until shown ,i'm pic posting dumb,i wish i could post it ,it's as new/just wanted opinions on why or why not i did ok,or made a quick and maybe wrong move..thought the 48 to be more scarce andi likem, did'nt have one

I think you did good. if it was a 29-2 then probably not but I tend to look at the 29-3's, even the 4 inchers, as pretty common and shooting material. I know you traded an N frame for a K but I think the 22 mag is a good thing. I would rather have the burden of replacing a 29-3 instead of the 48.

I've unloaded what were considered to be fine firearms and/or gear for lesser examples, just because the new stuff was "right" for me.
Never second guess yourself, you've done what your heart told you to, and you'll not regret it down the road.

if it suits you, you did well. I never trade for a smaller bore, but that is my problem.

You did good IMO. Not too many of them 48's around and they are great groundhog revolvers. Also much more fun to shoot than a .44 mag.

I need one to match my Ruger 77/22 magnum.

thanks for your input, sometimes its hard to pull the trigger on a deal,i seem to get the short end of the stick alot..but i'm happy

TACC1----

Very sound words of advice----something all of us should listen to.

What really matters is, are you happy with the trade? I've been known to do some wild trades to get my hearts desire and in my mind I got what I wanted, and thats the point. For what it's worth I think you did alright.
