Did I Get It Back Together Right?

I've installed spring kits on many J-frames, but today was my first try on a K-frame; my new Model 19-9 "Classic". Yeah, I think they're all Classics too.

Anyway, while installing the new rebound spring, the hammer stirrup fell out. I spent an hour searching the internet and my library trying to find a drawing of how the new style stirrup fits into place. No luck, so I puzzled over how the parts fit and move, and installed it as you see in the picture. Everything seems to work normally with no binding, but that doesn't mean it's correct.

Can someone tell me if I got it right? And if it's wrong, what's the right way?

Looks right, from your photo. If there's no binding or other similar problems, I'd say you got it right.

I also have a 66-6 that went back to S&W a decade ago for their action tuneup. The 66 had the same "power rib" hammer spring when it came back from S&W, that I installed on the new 19. Both guns have the "normal" strength spring, not the lighter strength. But "normal" must mean significantly lighter than factory.
I put a 15 lb rebound spring in the 19, not sure what S&W put in the 66 but trigger return feels similar.
DA pull weight on both guns is similar, the 66 is marginally smoother now but had a definite hitch just before hammer drop after the S&W work; smoothed out after maybe 500 rds. SA is noticeably lighter in the 66 but I don't shoot SA very much and that may lighten up over time. SA in both guns is crisp. The 66 got chamfered chamber mouths, the 19 does not have them.

Overall, I feel like I have 95% of the S&W action job in the 19, just with the spring swap. $27 instead of ~$200 and no down time, so I'm happy. If I put it back together right...

There's only two ways to attach it. So, you've got a 50/50 shot at a sure thing.

The stirrup only goes on the hammer one way. If you turn it around, it won't fit. Looks good to me.

Turns out that's not quite as good as I thought. Tested it today and I'm getting misfires (really light strikes) on about 2 out of 6 shots.
Time to put the original hammer spring in until I get this figured out. I'll check to see if S&W put a longer firing pin in my 66 when the did the trigger job.

I put the hammer block in as I replace the sideplate, so it was sitting on the bench when this photo was taken.
