i bought this 38 special model 15 for $500... do you think it was worth it???? it looks like it has been cromed over but it is in excellent condition... the numbers at the butt are k 267810

First off, welcome to the forum. You'll find a bunch of interesting stuff here.

Secondly, I have to agree with the others. I think you paid too much by a couple hundred. Do you have this gun in your hands? These photos appear to be very poor quality auction site photos. If so, you were taking a BIG chance.

However, no matter what anyone else says if you wanted it, who cares what you paid. Just shoot the tar out of it!

well you did paid a bit much for it.but you did get a great gun. the model 15 was not called the combat masterpiece for nothing.keep it dont fret over it and enjoy it.just be carefull next time.also look for a N stamped on the gun.it maybe under the barrel above the ejector rod or on the cylinder back.i have seen it in these two places.if it has that it is factory nickel.

I think many folks do not do their homework before hand and pay a tad too much for something. If you read this forum regularly you will get a great education free of charge and have a better handle on what the going prices are the next time you see something you want. Shoot it and enjoy it.

I'll bet that virtually everyone on this forum has paid too much for a gun at one time or another. We all get the "I gotta have its" occasionally. What a gun is worth is subjective. If YOU like it and are comfortable with the price you paid then you didn't get ripped off. Also, frankly, the difference between a good deal and a bad deal on most used revolvers isn't all that much money. So, don't sweat it. Btw, of all the guns I've purchased, there's only been one where I believe I got the better of the deal. In every other instance I was pleased with what I paid and then, a day or two later, began having second thoughts about it. So, welcome to the club!!!
