I felt pretty good while at the show running around looking at stuff, buying a few small things, and visiting with friends. I got home late Sunday night, took it easy on Monday, and then woke up Tuesday with flu like symptoms. I did a home Covid test that showed positive. I soon did another with my doctor who confirmed it. I must be a trailblazer. I've got one of the Omicrons, the newest one out. Did I get it at the show? I don't know, but more than likely I was unknowingly spreading it around. I'm feeling better today. The flu symptoms are gone. I didn't go to the local show and will stay home until next weekend.

My wife and I(80 and 78) have avoided Covid 19. We went to a new Pizza joint last week and we were both sick a few days later. Not Covid but Flu type A which is new and not in the flu vaccine. I'm not to bad off but wife is really sick and gobbling prescription drug.

Sunday to Tuesday's symptoms seems a bit quick. Usually (old school) it is 5 - 7 days. Were you out and about the Saturday before? Maybe at a flea market or Shopping Center? I'm glad you're feeling better. The Tulsa group can't blame you as there had to be other 'spreaders' at the show.

May I ask what is the benefit of getting tested? A couple of weeks ago I went to the doctor with a bad cough. He wanted to give me a Covid test and I told him no because I would rather he treat my symptoms. Cough was my only symptom and he treated me for bronchitis. All better now

I don't see the benefit of getting a covid test either. You already know you are sick. Now what? Unless your doctor will give you IVM or HCQ there is zero reason to get tested.

One benefit of getting tested for covid is that if positive you are eligible to receive paxlovid which is an oral drug one takes for five (I think it is) days.

Paxlovid's purpose is to assist in keeping one's symptoms mild and preventing the need for hospitalization.

I can see how that would benefit some. I believe I will be better in 5 days,,, still remember when I was younger and thought I was bulletproof

My girlfriend was sick with some kind of respiratory illness for almost 3 weeks. Maybe 5-6 days straight in bed. She got sick right after babysitting 3 children of a West Point permanent party enlisted couple. What I'm told is that a virus called RSV is going around here in the Hudson Valley.
My girlfriend has not been sick in 3+ years. I had my scheduled blood work done in the middle of her illness. I did not feel sick, but my white cell count was elevated.

For a second there I thought you might have caught something from Miss Mona's Pleasure Palace. :D

I would hardly call Paxlovid a benefit. People who take Paxlovid will often have "rebound" infections where full blown covid symptoms reappear within days after treatment. Instead of being mildly to moderately sick for 3-5 days, these people suffer with covid for a month or longer. But don't take my word for it. It happened to Kamela Harris, Joe Biden, Anthony Fauci, and Rachael Wallensky.
Paxlovid also has some pretty dangerous side effects, including serious interactions with a huge number of common prescriptions.

RSV is a massive problem in the Vegas Valley schools right now. I must assume that it is highly infectious, because when it hits a school they can have 30-40% of the kids out sick all at once.

Well, that’s like your opinion, man, to quote The Dude.:)

Any one of those people mentioned wind up in the hospital? I have heard about rebound cases, of course, but have not heard about the rebound cases being severe.

Charlie,
I spoke with you Sat. morning briefly on the upper level at Tulsa and I think I also brought something home only mine was just a 24 hour stomach bug that started really early Tuesday morning.
But finally finding a model 41 field barrel late Sat afternoon made it worthwhile.
