Did I pay too much ??

I paid less than that for an unfired 4" pencil barrel a couple of years ago but having shot mine would happily pay that price today. I expected the 4" pencil barrel would be a poor shooter and boy was I wrong.

Enjoy your new 10-5,

Al

Best to ask that question ... before you buy it !

If you are happy with the price ...

Then it was a good deal !

Now ... Louisiana Swamp People say ... Choot It Snuf... Choot It !

You did OK for a nice 10-5, snuf. I sold this minty ANIB Model 10-8 (with box, ca. 1982) a couple of years ago for $450 at a local gun show. I got it in a trade with a buddy, and I'm really not into Model 10s, so I let it go. I may have let it go a little too cheap, but I was happy and so was the buyer.

I first got into S&W's after I got out of the Army in 1976 and those Model 10's were going for $119 + tax. Adjusted for inflation that would be ~ $658 so I'd say you did really well.

My first issued revolver was a heavy barrel model 10, brand new. I had to turn it in when issued a new Sig. I really wanted to buy it. I'd drop $450. for another in a heartbeat.

I paid a little more for a snubby 10-7 a few weeks ago and I don't regret it a bit. It's quickly become one of my favorites and I absolutely love carrying and shooting it.

If you like it, you did good.
