Did S&W Ever Make a 686 with...

I'm wondering if there's ever been a standard 686 with the DX sighting system? I know about the SSR and the 7 shot Pro Series but I'm looking for a standard finish with the standard barrel 686. Far as I'm concerned that would be the perfect gun for me. Thanks for any responses.

I assume you mean the interchangeable front sight. Not that I am aware of, but it is a good idea.

You can get that sight base put on any 686.

The M686 SSR appears to have the Classic front sight...

I know I can have it done and likely will but I'd prefer to have a factory one.

As Protocal_Design mentioned, the front sight can be changed to the Weigand front sight, which is the same as the factory system. Here's a pic of a blue one in the package, but they made stainless as well....

I just checked my 686 DX, and no such feature. I'd so very give up the factory porting for the quick change sights.
