....a model 57 with a 8 3/8" barrel and an unfluted cylinder?

A .41 Magnum Stealth Hunter, basically. I want one.

seriously? no one here knows the answer to this question? I figured this would be a softball for the resident 41 mag guys

again, model 57 8 3/8" barrel, full lug, unfluted cylinder. did S&W ever make any as part of a regular production run?

Not listed in the standard reference...now someone will post a photo of theirs :).

Well not a 57 but a nice 6.5" 657 Classic Hunter II

So far as I know S&W never made an 8 3/3” full lug .41 magnum in any color. However, the only cataloged .41 for some years and a long running catalog item was the 7 ½” FL 657. I don’t have my SCSW handy and I don’t recall for sure if it was fluted, but I think not. The only unfluted 8 3/8” 657 that I know of was a performance center 657 with its own style tapered under lug. Its weight would be similar to the original 8 3/8” 657. It came with a scope mount, two stocks and interchangeable front sights. It had a round butt, ball detent lock up and bead blasted finish. It’s in the SCSW but the book doesn’t have a picture.

Here is a 6½" 657-2

There is a three pack of stainless Classic Hunters, a 629 6", a 657 6½", and a 686 6", all with boxes and lightly used, starting at $4,500 or so on GB right now.
