Are there any 629's with full underlug barrel, hammer mounted firing pin, and "44magnum" "Smith and Wesson" stamped in the barrel? Not that laser etched stuff? Barrel length doesn't matter.

What you are describing is a 629 "Classic", and all the ones I have seen have the etched barrel markings as you describe them. Someone in Forum land may have one with stamped markings.

Yea I've seen lots of those for sale... Figures what I want is either very rare or doesn't exist $$$$$

The 629-1 does not have a lock and is stamped on barrel BUT does not have the full under lug. I think you may have to give up either the full under lug to get one without lock and is stamped. The full under lug is going to have etched markings on barrel and also a lock. The 629-3 and 629-4 does have full under lug and no lock but I think they all have etched markings on barrel.

Yes. What you want is a 629-2 or 629-3 Classic Hunter. I've had 2 of them. Full underlug barrel and stamped markings. The only other feature you may or may not like is that they all had unfluted cylinders.

Awesome info. Thank you. Luckily, I do like unfluted cylinders

Here's mine

What are these worth? I've got one that I don't carry anymore, I've pretty much switched to my 4".
