I am noticing big differences in pricing between Winchester and Remington, especially for their 38 Special 158 grain Lead Semi-Wadcutter ammo. Has anyone noticed a difference in quality to reflect the price difference?

They both shoot well in my revolvers. I too have noticed the significant difference in price; no idea why. Due to the better price on the Remington blend, I've been shooting those more for the past few years.

Bob's Reloads are competitively priced less than 22 LR in most calibers except 44 mag @ $5.50 per 50 in a magnum loading. Why buy factory ammo? I don't save money but I get to buy more pre-lock S&W revolvers.

Price never has and never will be an indicator of quality. If you believe otherwise, marketers love you

My cynical speculation: Winchester closed down the old Granite City plants and they have to pay for the new buildings and equipment. If anything, quality has slipped with the startups. YMMV
