When I bought my safe I was told that a person in the know can open my safe in less than 30 minutes. Mine had an electronic lock which I changed out to dial when the electric lock failed to open the safe a few times.
If you want into your safe, depending how much replacement would be, then take either a torch and cut the side off the safe or use a grinder to do the same thing.
I don't know about the EMP scare because I have heard both sides that it is and it isn't as big a deal as some think.
I will never buy any safe that has an electronic lock. It cost me $375 to get the combination lock installed. I found out there was a loose wire causing the occasional failure of the electronic lock.
