Does anyone know if there is a way to open a digital lock safe if the lock gets fried like a EMP would do. I'm not really paranoid but EMP is one of the reasons I bought guns in the first place.

No offense, but if there's an EMP that fries your safe, your safe will be the least of your problems. If I thought that was going to happen, I wouldn't use a digital only safe, or live on the grid, or use a bank, etc, etc.

I have a more mundane concern.
My safe came with a little lock and key that prevents the dial from being turned with the key lock engaged. It's a back-up feature to prevent entry if someone finds your combo.

However, with the key lock engaged your entire safe can be disabled with a

This. But just to be safe, my safe has a mechanical backup in case of an EMP (or more likely, the battery dies lol) The keypad is for convenience really. Easier to punch in the code instead of digging the key out of it's hiding spot.

My friend, if an EMP is one of the reasons you bought guns, you are paranoid. At least a little.

The only thing large enough to create an EMP large enough to do real damage to electronic components is a nuclear explosion. Like BigDog48 said, if that happens, you have more to worry about.

The chance of it happening is so small as to be non existent.

It wouldn't be something you could do yourself. You would have to call a safe man.

^^^^^^
He'd have to holler real loud or the safe man would have to be real close. If he can't get into a safe because of an emp his phone won't be working either.

(I tried using the quote function but it didn't work, first time that ever happened to me here)
