I was pleased measuring the neck expansion portion of the powder funnel at .003-.004 less then bullet diameter. Except for magnum loads, a heavy crimp is not called for I think. Any thoughts?

Oh sure. Bell the case a "little" and lead will work fine. What I measured were 9mm and 45 Colt.

On handgun calibers we recommend flaring the case mouth at least .010" larger than a sized, unflared cse measures. This ensures both a consistant powder drop as well as shaving-free bullet seating.

When I set up my Dillon, I screw down the powder die until I get full travel on the powder measure, and then add an eighth of a turn. That seems to give me enough bell.

I hope that helps,
