dirty harry remake

I would like to see Clint Eastwood do another Dirty Harry Movie or another Western. Nobody but nobody can be Dirty Harry except Clint Eastwood.

I would really like to see a remake but I dont much care who plays Harry as long as Pauly Shore and Adam Sandler play the bad guys and we see some really graphic slow motion impact scenes where brains turn to vapor and cover the wall and then they scream alot in extreme agony!!! An even better one to play the bad guy that gets the much needed "tune up" would be Michael Moore.

Leave as is...that's like trying to remake Forest Gump....not gonna happen.

Gran Torino was such an embarrassment, Eastwood's macho stuff should be what we remember of him and should always be only his.

This movie and series require NO remakes. Clint IS, WAS and always WILL BE Harry Callahan. Besides which they now no longer have the rank of "Inspector" in SF. I believe they have a transsexual in a high police office--Commisioner, perhaps? In any case, please leave well enough alone! Sorry, Hugh Jackman!

Eastwood and Wayne were masters of the one liner. Younger actors don't seem to have the finess. Jeff Bridges as Cogburn? It was an entirely different movie. I enjoyed it but immedialtely had to play my old DVD of the real movie. Had to show the wife what made John Wayne a legend. She already loves Clint Eastwood. Said she would leave me for him (or Willie Nelson) regardless of age. Of course I said "Go ahead..........."

Charles Bronson is another that had "that look"!
I believe he would have made a good Dirty Harry too!
I think all the best are just about gone.

Charles Bronson vs. Muggers - YouTube

Don't ever forget Charlie Bronson with his pop bottle bar face he will be loved forever too. All these old movies are awesome and much better than todays movies. Were losng these great actors more and more now. John Wayne was like himself in real life ad in the movies. He once kicked butt on some protesters who were outside a hollywood gathering. Lets go back to Jimmy Cagney and Humphery Bogart too. They will live on forever in the turner classic movies. Thank God that turner had the vision to save them all.

To those who say bring back Clint....
I can hear the scene now where he has the bad guy on the dock:
This is a .44 magnum the worlds 13th most powerful handgun, and
will blow your head clean off. All this of course while Eastwood is
holding himself up on crutches. Come on..... I'd bet 100 dollars that
a remake will be made. But probley not til' Clint passes away.
Might as well start looking for the lead actor now.
And to the guy who says Christian Bale and Josh Brolin are too "Young"?
How old do you think Eastwood was when he made the first movie?
He was'nt some 50-60 year old then.
The originals are "Classics" and will live forever. Just as the original
"Godfather" movie was, but that did'nt stop someone from making
3 or 4 more did it? It will happen sooner or later.........

I watched two of them this week. Dirty Harry and Sudden Impact. Dang are they dated. The scripts read like preaching so many times.

I still wish there had been a Dirty Harry/Bullitt movie. Those two would have been bumping around San Francisco at the same time.

And yes, Bullitt [1968] is dated too.

If they have an African-American ever play Dirty Harry, I vote for Will Smith.

How's about Harry (played by Clint) is now The Chief of Police and other young dudes are the Inspectors?
At the end Harry has to dispatch The Bad Guys with his trusty 500 S&W Magnum.

*This just ain't your lucky day - punk* (kinda growl when saying it)

Recently netflixed the Clint Eastwood biography; in it Clint touches upon the somewhat common request for yet another Dirty Harry film. To paraphrase him: I don't know what they would want, like he's retired and fly fishing somewhere and they pull him back out of retirement? I don't think so.

I wholehearedly agree.

If some studio head would actually besmirch the good name of Inspector Callahan by attempting a 21st century remake, then I would have to vote for the part to be played by Richard Simmons, begin by panning in standing at the top of Lombard St., arms outstretched, "HELLO FRISCO!" :p

Clint Eastwood is 82 years old now and probably beyond shooting anything heavier than a .32 S&W Long without causing permanent damage to his gun hand. (Of course, a .44 Magnum blank wouldn't be a problem.)

To whoever mentioned Slash and Rose, they were each in "The Dead Pool" as were other members of "G&R." Jim Carrey lip synched one of their biggest hits till his character was bumped off in that flick. Clint was 41 when that was released, and 58 when the last "Harry" movie came out. And last time I looked they didn't have too many cops in their early to mid 80s patrolling the streets. Oh, and as far as actors being politicians, I thought Reagan was far better than who is in charge now.

Actually----Bruce Willis has played in an Eastwood film re-make.
Last Man Standing was the remake of the man with no name in Fist Full of Dollars and I liked it.
You have to get the story right and it doesn't matter what period of time it is set in.
As far as actors are concerned---someone young, with no prior history to cloud his appearance.
Remake 'em all----including "Casablance"--it is the story and the actor has to move the story along as being believeable.
NOW---would we even know Clint if they had used a young Burt Lancaster as DH? OR--heavens forbid---what about Bogey.
Good what if conversation.
Blessings
