Dirty Harry Shoulder Holster

Let's just say that you have two posts on this forum, and the first one was denegrating the Blocker holster and raving about the Lawman one. And a second one doing essentially the same thing. I can't help but wonder WHO sent you to the forum and directly to this thread in the first place? Why no comments when you bought the Blocker holster if it was so terrible? Mr. Ardolino did more than enough to close a lot of people's minds with his posts that are now deleted. Your posts have a very similar ring to Mr. Ardolino's. Can't help but wonder if he hasn't just re-registered under a different name. Go away Jerry...we've had enough of your BS.

I scrolled back through this thread (I know, I should be cleaning the garage instead!)and am trying to understand the controversy. Since Jerry Ardolino's posts have been deleted I don't know what he said that set some people off. But, some of the controversy seemed to stem from questions about the authenticity of the "revived" company and I believe some thought it was a scam. I plunked down $539.00 for three holsters that I ordered and then waited about 13 weeks for delivery. And, delivered they were and they are fantastic. I only saw photos of the Blocker version and while it is a nice custom made rig I probably would not have purchased one if the Lawman was not available. I wanted the original and my new ones are practically identical to photos of early models I have seen and words cannot describe the workmanship and the overall quality. A Bianchi X-15, new, can be found for maybe $125.00 at a discount site. By comparison, at $180.00 the Lawman DH is a steal. IMO if you want an original style DH holster the Lawman is the only choice currently available. Deputy, I know you will never buy one and you are certainly entitled to your opinion. But, if anyone else is considering placing an order, they are for real. I have three (well, I have 2, my son has one)and they are superb. We will be using them this coming deer season. I am not trying to beat this to death, but if you are interested in this type of holster, you decide. Great quality/faithful to the original/reasonable price. You're gonna wait 12 weeks minimum, but I thought it was worth it. OK, I also got my post count up...off the the garage.

viceunit: The controversy was that I had asked, and Blocker holsters had agreed, to make a replica (NOT a "duplicate") of the Dirty Harry holster back in February 2007. 44forever pretty much described what we wanted "I'm not trying to match one I had previously so a basic one as close as possible to the movie one would work for me." As a matter of fact, the folks at Blocker found some basic flaws with the original design and made modifications and improvements to correct those flaws. I doubt good ol' Jerry mentioned that on his website.
Blocker Holsters are the original makers of the Sonny Crockett "Miami Vice" holsters, of which I have one. And they did an outstanding job making that holster. So I pretty much knew that they made quality gear. The Blocker folks agreed and we started sending in our orders. Around December of 2008 we suddenly started seeing Mr. Ardolino posting all kinds of negative comments about the Blocker holster and raving about his version. He made all kinds of unsubstantiated authenticity claims and personal attacks on Shelly of Blocker Holsters. At first he had NO website to consult. Then one suddenly appeared. He demanded that, if ordering a holster, the credit card must be dinged months in advance of production. EVERY post he made had a huge signature line spamming the forum and it pissed off a lot of folks. Blocker Holsters was doing us a favor making this product. It was a custom made item and not done on any assembly lines. I doubt very much there was a big profit margiun for them. They were VERY nice folks to deal with. Mr. Ardolino threatened lawsuits and all kinds recriminations against Blocker Holsters. Hardly conducive to selling his product. Most likely, if he had come in peaceably and as a gentleman and offered his product as an alternative, he would have had a lot more sales.

Lawman Leather Goods

I just got my new Original Dirty Harry Holster for my .44 mag. Well worth the wait and better than the pictures. Mr. Ardolino stayed in touch with me personally throughout the construction of the holster and made sure that it fit right.

I am going to get my wife to take some pictures that I can post to my website at www.firearmslawyer.net.

I may just cut the ties off once I know for sure everything fits perfectly. The adjustments I made were minimal and I want to make sure that nothing interferes with the smooth draw.

I have one. Very nice holster.

OK, I just discovered this thread and have recently retrieved my 8 3/8" Model 29-2. Does either of these makers offer their product for the Pinnochio version of the N-frame? Since I don't have a dog in the Blocker vs Lawman fight, I really don't want to wade through 23 more pages of this thread if I don't have to, so if somebody will either refer me to one or both of their websites or just let me know where that information may be found, I would be most appreciative.

TIA ~ Froggie

The Blocker holster is not on their website. Can anyone post what the price was the last time they made them?

It's a shame the manufacturer came in here and acted like such an a-hole to everyone. If he would have come in here and acted like a gentleman and presented his product with some modicum of dignity, he probably would have increased his sales considerably. Posting tons of negative stuff about the competition just turns everyone off. Why not just let the PRODUCT speak for itself?

....well, he is from Chicago;)

Actually, it was Lawman Leather. Here's the info and pics of it:

I have a Buchheimer holster, model 15L-84 that looks exactly like the holster at the link, except that it's designed for a 4" barrel.

I bought it at a gun shop in Casselberry, Fl back in the late 70's for my very first gun, a Colt Trooper Mk III.

My new S&W 329 PD in .44 mag fits it as well, so I'm going to keep it.

hey all you dirty harry fans,
me and my father inlaw supplied the speedloaders and pouches for the movie Magnum Force, we actually had the model 29 here in miami to make it work with speedloader, we used houge grips we had to do a little wood work on them to accept speedloaders, we supplied the loaders for the 44 and the 357s
the the bad/good guys used, depending how you look at it,
any way they used all DADE equiptment in magnum force, Tyne Daly used HKS in the Enforcer,
i am still making loaders even though we shut down the business in the 90s thanks to the Clinton red tape machine,
enough politics,
i still make them in small batches, just to keep them alive.
if any body is looking for some
[email protected] is where i can be found, and ebay but they are more $$ there with all the fees,
and like John always said if you drop one you better be grabbing your second or third one (harry always carried 3)
instead of looking around for the dropped loader while you are getting shot at, or if you are at the range no matter what loader you use you should be removing and inspecting the rounds for damage, and the simple design allows them to function even when you have it rolling around in a glove compartment for years, i have hundreds to choose from and i still carry the same ones i have had since the 80s,
if any one needs replacement parts let me know i would be happy to get the old loaders working again,
so GO AHEAD AND MAKE MY DAY

I bought mine from LLG in about '76. Cost me $60, I believe and arrived fairly quickly. And while it didn't come with the cylinder hole as in the movies, it was one fantastically comfortable rig. Packed my 6 1/2" weapon all day if I wanted. Used it on several deer hunts, too. Accidently spilled a little deer blood on it once, but it cleaned off alright. WELL worth the cost, especially compared to what they go for now. I give mine an A.
