Dirty Harry Shoulder Holster

They're made by Wild West Leather Co. of Texas by Jerry Ardolino(a Chicago native and excop) yet and always were. Took delivery of mine right on the money. Probably nine and one half months to the day. I read a lot of dislikes about him and his company on this forum but, he came through for me.
The only difference I could detect from the one I own in the 1980s is he no longer uses the pull the dot snaps? Same quality as always.

Hey dirtyhowie, how've you been? I bought a couple of Dades off you through fleebay and you told me then, you'ld be making some for .41s and .44s again and you'd be in touch? Still waiting.

How did you get the SFPD Inspector's shield? Was that Harry's shield number? Very nice.

hey all you dirty harry fans,
me and my father inlaw supplied the speedloaders and pouches for the movie Magnum Force, we actually had the model 29 here in miami to make it work with speedloader, we used houge grips we had to do a little wood work on them to accept speedloaders, we supplied the loaders for the 44 and the 357s
the the bad/good guys used, depending how you look at it,
any way they used all DADE equiptment in magnum force, Tyne Daly used HKS in the Enforcer,
i am still making loaders even though we shut down the business in the 90s thanks to the Clinton red tape machine,
enough politics,
i still make them in small batches, just to keep them alive.

and like John always said if you drop one you better be grabbing your second or third one (harry always carried 3)
instead of looking around for the dropped loader while you are getting shot at, or if you are at the range no matter what loader you use you should be removing and inspecting the rounds for damage, and the simple design allows them to function even when you have it rolling around in a glove compartment for years, i have hundreds to choose from and i still carry the same ones i have had since the 80s,
if any one needs replacement parts let me know i would be happy to get the old loaders working again,

They were the Dade loaders. I dont think anyone else was making 44 Magnum loaders back then. I lived in Broward county back then a got some of the first made. IIRC, they were still marked 38 Special. They worked just fine. Faster than the turn type.

I had to clearance the original target grips on my 1973 vintage 8 and 3/8 inch nickel M29. Probably wouldnt do that now. Didnt have too many custom grips available back then.

hey fellas if anyone is still interested, I'm making one for my M-25, 8.3/8
(yes I carry that behemoth). While it will be based on the Bianchi/Lawman open front design, it will have a different retention system for faster deployment and a more comfortable harness. I had made one for the same barrel length to carry my M29 some years back, but sold it to the fella who brought the gun. He had no idea I was carrying it so the look on his face was priceless when I produced it. I will post some pics when its done.

Dade loader

I thought Harry carried Dade speedloaders? Was HKS in business way back then?

I met the son of the original machinist with Miami Dade Screw who made the first (or one of the 1st). He has some of the original tool and die and still makes the original. I hear the hold story of the original Dirty Harry loader. What a story and history.

I will find one of the catalog and attach later.

cbore, he has some listed on flea bay every once in a while. I bought my first two after I viewed the movie way back when. Both are very pleasant men to deal with. Mind you, the HKSs are a much more secure loader.

I didn't buy my shoulder holster because of 'Dirty Harry'. I bought it to carry my 6" 357, 41 and 44 magnums while in the back bush. Cost $75 bucks back in 1975. Alfonso of Hollywood Leather, still use it today.

This is as close as I'll ever get to a "Dirty Harry" rig. I found it before I found the model 67. It's a nice holster, but probably nothing I'll ever use. 'just not partial to shoulder rigs.
