Disappointed with my M&P 22 Compact

I just got it back yesterday. Turnaround time was almost exactly one month. They did everything I asked in the repair order:

1. Replace broken thumb safety spring
2. Replace roll pin in slide that was constantly backing out
3. Popped the muzzle nut loose (I broke the factory wrench trying to do it myself)

I forgot to mention the rear sight shifting in its dovetail, but I think I'm just going to replace the sights with aftermarkets anyway.

My only issue now is that I have a loose muzzle nut and no wrench, so I'll have to get one from EWK.

I only had a couple of hundred rounds through mine when the elevation spring disappeared. As it is its more or less OK all the way down. But it groups pretty horrible even close up. On the bright side it eats every thing you feed it. It's good for scaring tin cans.

I fabricated a new wrench in my garage today using a small piece of scrap steel, so we're now good.

I have seen plenty of issues with "all metal" .22 handguns. Just search "model 41 problem" here on this forum and I'm sure you'll have plenty of reading...

Noda.......You alway6s only hear the bad stuff.......Not the good stuff.......My personal 41 has been flawless since the day i bought it.....So has my Buckmark and Ruger MK11.

22lr ammo can problems for firing but for functional reliability I'll never own a poly frame want be 22lr . To many problems .

I learned to shoot with a colt huntsman 6" back in 1961 and its still a hail of a shooter today . My wife has a ruger 22/45 that's about 25 yards old , she carrys a 1911 at times . I added a rail to it for a dot optic along with clark trigger kit to it years ago and the trigger pretty good with a 2lb 2oz break . A little bore polishing when new hasm helped to keep the bore in good shape . Both are accurate and reliable depending on ammo use of course but shooting at 12 ga hulls at 25 yards with both was normal . Today my eye sight relays on trifocals so I'm better with my wife's ruger today .

My PMPC (Plastic M&P Compact) is 100% on MiniMags, and after about 300 of those had "broken in" enough to shoot others except some very soft SK Standard Plus.

I might should have bought the full size, better as a practice gun, but I was drawn to "Made in USA" vs "made by pellet gun company."
