I would like to completely disassemble(less removing the barrel) my model 67. I have already taken the cylender completely apart and found a good bit of buildup inside the cylender and on the yoke. I would like to go into the side plate and take everything apart to clean and oil everything. I have removed the sideplate to peek inside(my gunsmith let me know to release tension on the mainspring).

Where can I find info about the proper places to oil and anything that I need to be aware of? Or should I leave this job to my gunsmith?

It's really unnecessary to completely remove the trigger works. You can spray degreaser followed by oil in there and accomplish the same task with less danger of screwing something up.

It's not even necessary to remove the sideplate to clean and lubricate the internals.

Just spray, drip, or squirt cleaning solvent into the action through the hammer and trigger openings, work the action, and dry with compressed air or drip dry. Relubricate through the same openings, and wipe off excess lubricant.

Kuhnhausen's Shop Manuals are available from Brownells' and the Miculek trigger job DVD is an excellent visual resource.

Yup, that's what I do. Spray Remoil into all the openings, work the hammer and trigger about twenty times, then wipe clean. Simple and fast.

Thats great news. Thanks for the info. Will Break Free spray work well? Someone else has recommended Remoil.

Well I take them apart and scrape all the carbon out, then relube. Look in the faq above for the basic write up. And yes, a few drops of breakfree will keep it going for another 1000 or so, before a good cleaning is needed again.

Thanks. I forgot to look at the FAQ. Everyone sure is nice on this site. I might very well have gotten reamed out on another site for such an infraction. :o
