The NRA rules for the Distinguished Revolver, section 3.1.4, state for a revolver to be legal, "it must be a factory manufactured with no external modifications..."

My question is a S&W Performance Center M686 Competitor with weighted barrel legal?
Yes, it is factory manufactured with no external modifications but...
Does anyone shoot one of these in the Distinguished Revolver competition?

Thanks in advance,
Mark

I doubt that NRA will allow it, but, you should check with NRA Law Enforcement Competitions. The rules do not specifically prohibit this revolver, at least nothing I could find.

I believe that trigger stop is just a roll pin stuck in a hole in the back of the trigger. Easily pulled out with pliers, I have done it. Still don't think it would be legal even with it gone.
