Do all M&P's come with Fired Round? Pic's Too.

Unless the gun is new when they compare to the shell database, i doubt that after some use, the case matches the gun anymore.

I just can't believe you can look at a factory fired shell casing from a 1960 gun and then look at one from the same gun 30,000 rounds later and see anything that links the two casings....
Frankly, I don't personally know whether this is true or not. But here's something I *do* know:

No lawmaker favoring any gun control measures would bother to ask that question.

Actually there have been scientific studies performed by Forensic Firearm examiners (that's my job) that show that microscopic characteristics reproduce over several thousands of rounds fired in a firearm. Yes, some characteristics change over time and new characteristics can form from wear and damage. But unless someone intentionally goes in and tries to change these characteristics they can still be used to identify a fired bullet or cartridge case to a firearm even after significant use.

Im probably gonna get flammed for this, but I cant understand why some people have such a problem with this. Unless you plan on murdering someone with your gun, why does it really matter? I mean it probably has already, and will continue, to catch thousands of killers. Just my .02

I think the actual count is one.

One killer.

At the cost of how many millions of dollars?

And when you sell the gun to your buddy and he sells it to his buddy and he loses it in a woods and then some thug shoots someone with it and now you are under investigation because a shell casing was found matching a gun you owned 20 years ago?

No I'm not worried about it... I don't sell guns. Seems like a waste of money and resources though.
